How to: Change default program for files

Hi, I am trying to save files normally but for some reason they are saving as an illustrator file. I can not seem to figure out how to change it. I have looked through my illustrator settings, my file settings, and my download settings. It does it even when I try to save images from google. I am currently trying to save photos from lightroom though. Thanks!

Hello @Kayla375147642kys,

Thanks for reaching out. From what you've described, it seems Illustrator has been set as the default application for JPG/PNG files. To change this, kindly try the suggestions shared in these help articles and let us know if they help:

For macOS: https://adobe.ly/3VfRG0J

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Kayla,

I believe you may wish to look elsewhere, namely at the file associations at the general level of your computer Operating System (Win/Mac); .ai seems to be used for more than its own (and related) kind(s).

Can you please describe what exactly you are saving and what makes you think that it's an AI file.
