How to change stroke width in cs4?

The width tool I believe is new to cs5.

I'm using cs4, how can I change the width of a stroke?

I'm hoping not to use outline stroke because a shape is more work to maintain than a stroke.

There's no easy way to do what the Width tool does without having this amazing tool. Time to upgrade.

Use an art brush. You might want to show us what exactly you want to do.

    Hi avpromedia,

I found one of my old videos from when the Width tool was first introduced.

Open "Stroke" panel and edit "Weight".

    or

Open Appearance panel, click Stroke and change it there.

Sorry, I did not understand you wanted to duplicate the effect of the Width Tool in CS4. Yeah, that's one tool that is worth upgrading for. If you could find CS5 somewhere I think you'd be very happy.
