How to clean the register of the serial number (AI CS3, cc cleaner tool done but not enough)?

Hi,

I would like to activate my CS3 Illustrator so I followed the steps. It didn't work

I tried the Adobe CC Cleaner Tool but the Serial Number is still recorded in the Windows registry (I used Recover Keys (demo version) and I saw that the serial number was still the old)

How can I change the serial number or erase the one in the Windows registry so that it asks me to enter the one that I can use to activate my Illustrator product)

Can you please help me ? I would really like to use my Illustrator product

Best Regards,

Daniele

Daniele,

If relevant, you may try to do as Mark describes in post #10 here (hoping/as long as the solution still works),

Thank you Jacob,

Deleting the cache.db file made it a success. Thank you

I can now use the product which is great

However I can still not activate it with the new serial number. That will be yet another step

No need/possibility, no step.

The whole change is caused by the retirement of the activation servers for CS3, (almost) just as it happened with CS2.

The activation servers for CS3 have been shut down. In order to install any CS3 program you will need a replacement installer that does not require activation from Adobe. Go to Download Adobe Creative Suite 3 products . As long as you are a registered owner and have your original serial number you can use this link. Keep in mind however that CS3 is not supported for Windows 10 so even if you are able to install it may not run. If you have Windows 7 or 8.1 then you should be OK. I am not certain but I believe that in using the replacement installer that you will not have to clear the registry.
