How to constrain line weights

How does one constrain all aspects of a mechanical drawing when scaling it smaller:  Specifically, when I unlock and select all layers together, then Transform / Scale (to, for example, 25%), everything does get smaller, but Line Weights are not constrained -- resulting in crazily disproportionate lines.  Possible to keep everything intact?  Many thanks.

Correct answer Ton Frederiks

There is an option in Preferences (and most transform panels) > Scale Strokes and Effects.

Open Preferences > General, and check Scale Strokes and Effects checkbox.

It will affect any transformation you do to paths and effects.

When you do not want it, uncheck that option in the corresponding panel, like Scale or Transform panels

Thank you each! It's always amazing how simple things are when one knows what they are doing, huh?
