Question

How to create several different shapes inside of an object (e.g. photo)?

I'm trying to find out how to dissamble an object, e.g. a photo of something abstract with several different graphic forms?

I could need triangles, hexagons, octagons, and if possible no circles, inside of an photo and it would be great if its aligned in some way.

Does anyone has an idea how Illustrator could do this?

Thanks in advance.

I have no idea what you even want to create. Can you perhaps show an example or a sketch?

Okay, so I'm trying to explain it further, I'm literally asking for a friend 😉

There is a sewing technique what's called paper piecing, where you reduce an object (butterfly, cat, whatever) into geometrical shapes. The shapes will later on get sewed with different fabrics and can create a 3D object with different styles.

later on I'd be able to develope physic stencils to use seem continuely

Let me know if it's still unclear, I didn't get it in the first place as well 😉 But thanks for replying!

Would be great to find out if Illustrator is actually able to do it 🙂

Look for tutorials about "Low Poly". Basically there is no automatic method.
