How to cut or snip a section of a Stock image?

Can you show a screenshot with the Layers panel?

Is it a pixel image or a vector image?

If it’s a vector image, make sure, you open it in Illustrator and do not place it.

Then open Window > Layers.

Check out if it is a group or a clipping mask.

If it’s one of the above, make sure to ungroup it or Release the clipping mask (in the Object menu)

Then check out if the birds are now single objects.

If they are, you can take the black arrow (selection tool) form the toolbar, drag a rectangle around the desired bird, copy and paste into a new document (or the document you need it in)

After having done that, make sute to group it if it is not already a group.
