Question

How to delete missing fonts in Adobe Illustrator?

I love ancient Chinese calligraphy fonts, but because I'm not interested in certain fonts, I didn't want to use them, so I successfully uninstalled them. However, I noticed that some uninstalled fonts in Adobe Illustrator are marked with an asterisk. How can I remove these missing fonts from my font library?

@Flawless_Odyssey6941 I think you just need to clear the font cache. Quit all Adobe applications (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Creative Cloud desktop app, etc.) to ensure all related font cache files are remvoed. The most effective way to clear Illustrator's font cache is to delete the specific files that hold this list. These files are typically named  AdobeFnt*.lst  and live deep within your user's Library folders. I would also remove IllustratorFnt.lst as well. Deleting these files forces Illustrator to rebuild its font menu from scratch the next time you open it, and it will only include fonts that are actually installed and active on your system.

@Flawless_Odyssey6941 if you have File Explorer, you could do a search on the file name.
