How to disable auto-rotate objects?

I have this weird problem with illustrator 2017. After updating to the latest version, now every time I create a new object, if I click on it to manipulate it, immediately rotates. I have to click on it several times with the Selection or the Direct Selection Tool until finally allows me to grab it and move it around instead of rotate. There's a way to disable this strange behavior?

Adobe in 2015 added a feature called live shapes, and I believe this is what is troubling you as many have voiced the same concerns over difficulty in grabbing objects and corners rounding instead of giving objects, especially if you are not zoomed in.

Unfortuanately you cannot best I know you can do is:

Object >> Shape >> Expand Shape. or

    Object >> Expand

my favorite way, as this will stay disabled until you reset prefs.
