So how do I set a scale for a flat, 2-D drawing in Illustrator? I know how to specify a page or panel/file size, and I can pick a type siz that's approprite, but how do I set a scale for the drawing itself?
You can set up a scale for the dimensioning, but not for the drawing. You have to do the calculations yourself. So it's best to work in 1:10 or something simple to calculate. But also: If this is for printing large format: Talk to the production folks before you set up anything.
