How to draw a path on a path?

Hi there is a feature on Manga studio that lets you draw on the same path. Is there anyway to do it in illustrator?

Do you mean creating paths to be used as Guides ?

if so, you can Draw any path and convert it to guide by pressing ctrl + 5

if that is not the case, please explain your point in more details so we can help you better.

I know how to turn paths into guides, but I'm wondering if I can make a path or a guide that I can continue drawing on. Like I want to be able to draw a line with the brush, and then want to continue drawing paths right on it.

Have you tried using the Appearance panel and adding new strokes to the path?
