How to draw with 0 weight

Question

I'm trying to use the paintbrush using a 0 weight stroke but the minimum seems to be 0.25 (0.1 if I edit it manually). However this is too much to obtain crisp angles, furthermore I get some widened lines inside corners (see figure). If I set weight 0 then it automatically reset to 1 as soon as I trace the line. Still I think I managed to do it yesterday somehow...

Unless there is some particular reason to use the Paintbrush tool, I would suggest that you use the Pencil tool for such superfine strokes. I don't know what the lower limit is for the stroke weight, but I have just set it for .01 pt, and while it's quite difficult to see at 100% it has none of the blob problem that Jacob (Hi, Jacob!) mentioned. Make sure, though, that the Brush Definition is set to Basic (i.e., no brush).

Unlike the Pencil tool, the Paintbrush requires a brush, so as a test I created a Calligraphic Brush with a diameter of .01 pt and set the stroke weight to .01 pt, which resulted in a heavier line than the brushless pencil stroke at .01 pt, and it had the blobs.

With regard to the blobs that look as if made with a fountain pen, it looks like the Blob issue solved many years ago by Kurt with Zig Zag Effect (setting the Size to 0 and Ridges per Segment to a sufficiently number (up to 100, you may get away with fewer)).
