How to embed/link CC Library

All I want to do is save vector logo files to my CC Library. I've dragged them into the library but when I go to use one and drag it out, it is an uneditable image instead of a vector. It will allow me to upload Illustrator files but it does the same thing and changes it to an image file. This makes no sense that you wouldn't be able to user vector files in Illustrator! Please help

Alt drag from the CC library creates an editable copy.

Just dragging creates a linked file.
