How to evenly distribute shapes created using the blend tool?

Question

I have a question as I continue to learn Illustrator.

I created 2 rectangles and used the blend tool to create the sizes and colors between the two. I then expanded the appearance. I would like to evenly distribute these rectangles vertically so there's the same amount of space between each one. However, when I select them all and click on the distribute button all of the rectangles get distributed unevenly (please see attached image.)

How can I get these to distribute them evenly?

You can use the Distribute Spacing section in the Align palette. That is, select all, click once again on a rectangle (e.g. the rectangle at the top of the stack) to make it the key object. Then go to the Align palette, set the desired spacing value and hit the Vertical Distribute Space button.

Thank you both so much! I didn't even know that function was available because when I opened my Align window all I saw was this. I didn't know there were other options available until I searched the term you gave me.
