Question

How to have a different drop shadow/extrude colour effect like this?

Hi there,

I am trying to create the word "WOW" (without the .gg) based on this effect using three colours (not necessarily these colours though):

What would be the best way to do this?

I can easily duplicate the letter with a different colour, but can't get it to "join"/extrude if that makes sense?

Any suggestions would be great, thanks!

The easiest way would be to use the plugin AG Blockshadow by Astute Graphics. Then expand the result and then use it as a clipping mask or use yet another plugin by them that will let you create hard dradients easily.

There is also a way to cleanly create this using a method I have described here: https://www.vektorgarten.de/long-shadows-with-illustrator.html

You got there before me Monika 😁

This is how I would do this with Astute Graphics Live Effects - either expanding the appearance or creating it all with Live Effects so you can still make edits.
