How can I insert a logo on top of a pattern and delete the pattern that is underneath it? Is it possible to also adjust the amount of pattern space around the logo after the pattern section is removed? Thank you for the help as this is all very new to me.

Correct answer Monika Gause

Sorry if it looks merged but it is simply sitting on top. They are two different objects and not merged together.

Please check the file you uploaded. It looks different.

With your file, you can open the Appearance panel.

Add a new fill below the current fill of that logo and make it white

Add Effect > Path > Offset path with the desired amount to that new fill.

To insert a logo on top of a pattern in Adobe Illustrator and remove the pattern beneath it, follow these steps:

  1. Arrange the layers so the pattern layer is below the logo layer.
  2. Select both the logo and pattern.
  3. Create a clipping mask by going to "Object" > "Clipping Mask" > "Make."
  4. To adjust the pattern space around the logo, enter isolation mode by double-clicking the logo.
  5. Modify the logo as needed, and the pattern space will automatically adjust.
  6. Exit isolation mode by clicking outside the logo or pressing "Esc."

By following these steps, you can easily place a logo on top of a pattern and remove the pattern beneath it while also adjusting the surrounding pattern space.

As long as the logo is not merged with the pattern this would have been possible.

In your case: no.

Hello - The logo is not merged with the pattern. I just placed it on top so you could see an example.

As you can see in the Outline view I have posted, it is indeed merged.
