How to merge other picture with shape

I'm trying to merge 2 pictures, but already have a shape of my own and I'm trying to merge the picture into it

To merge two connected objects you could select both and use Window/Pathfinder: Add...

If they are not connected and they are not in groups you could select both and Object/Compound Path/Make.

Put the shape you want to use on top of the image, select both the shape and the image and use Object > Clipping Mask > Make.
