How do i open two AI files at the same time, on the same sreen?

Like Doug said: Tile.

And in the upper right corner there is an icon that lets you arrange documents.

Open two or more files, then go to Window > Arrange > Tile.

Thank you fior the information, i have been working with AI up to CS3 and (am now on a Mac mini m2 and AI is so much different) there i could open more then one indipendant AI files and could drag item between them i tried your steps but find one window is active but can not open an old AI file in the secong window and make it indepenttly active. Unless i am not doing it right!

If you uncheck Window > Application Frame, does that help?
