Hi

I am typing a word in Illustrator in Arabic language. The fill color is Red and the outline is black. The output is not coming properly. I have attached a screenshot. I want to  achieve the output of Magenta color. In Magenta color word, I have converted the text to outline and then unite it with pathfinder but I need non-destructive. How can I achieve this in Illustrator? I am new to Illustrator a step by step instructions would be helpful. Thanks

If you want to do this non-destructive (=without first outlining the text), then first get rid of the outline from the text.

Then open Window > Appearance.

In the Appearance panel click the button to create a new stroke (at the bottom of the panel).

Then drag the new stroke below the "Characters" inside the panel (like you would drag a layer in the Layers panel)

Then apply color and thickness to the stroke.
