New user here.

I downloaded an asset which is an animal with a tail. I would like to change the shape of the tail, such as add a bend. I'm not sure of the optimal was to do this.

Thank you.

There is Puppet Tool in Illustrator that allows reshape any shape without adding any additional anchors. Try it

What format is the downloaded asset? Is it a vector file such as an .ai or .pdf or is it a raster file such as a jpeg, png or tiff? A vector file would be editable in Illustrator using Illustrator’s tools and functions. A raster file would need to have any changing done using Photoshop and would require a working knowledge of Photoshop’s tools and functions. You can tell for sure whether the file is vector or raster by going into Illustrator’s Outline mode (View>Outline). If you can see an outline of the asset then the file is vector. If you see only a blank rectangle then the file is raster.

    Thank you, Bill.

I confirm the asset is a vector.

So far I have fiddled with the Direct select and Reshape tools. But this requires individual node edits. I was hoping to be able to “pin” a rotation point and “warp” the tail.

Maybe this is wishful thinking :-)
