How to "remove the gap" between two objects

Question

Hi all,I have used Illustrator for decades and have always used a workaround for this, but I assume there is a more professional way that would save me a lot of time. So, I hope you can help me with this.How can I remove the gap between these two objects, or better said let one end, where the other one starts?Any help is greatly appreciated - thank you &#128521;

Select both.In the Align panel, click the bottom right Align to Key object.Click the object you want to align to and click one of the Distribute Spacing icons.
