How to remove video rulers and transparency grid from Video presets in Illustrator

how can i change this -

into this

I want to change the checkered background outside the artboard to just plain grey please help

    What are you referring to?

    The background of an artboard is shown as white by default, which does not mean that there actually will be white in an exported file.
