How to reset Illustrator settings

anyone kknows how to reset all of illustrator setings, printing preferences, color swatches etc, etc, all at once without re-installing the software?

I do graphic design and I cannot get my Illustrator settings back. I used to be able to size any object with my direct select too but it's not allowing me to do so any longer.  Love to understand how I can make get this back to the way it was …

Show/Hide Bounding Box is a toggle in the View menu. Shortcut Cmd(Ctrl)-Shift-B

Ed,

Depending on the version, you may need/wish to reset more than the aiprefs file: since 10, preferences have been moved to other files/folders. The full overhaul is to Move the folder

You've given that suggestion many times and now, i actively look for it! But on first glance, it's easy to miss the link... Suggestion: why don't you put "Move the folder" in bold. That way it'll stand out and the link will be more obvious

Try holding Cmd-Opt-Ctrl-Shift when restarting AI on a Mac or Alt-Crtl-Shift on a PC to reset the preferences to the factory defaults.
