How to save template with custom view?

I am trying to save a document with a custom view I made for 1000% zoom as a template but when I go to open the template the custom view is gone. Only way I have gotten it to work is going to "more settings" when creating a new document and going down to "Templates", where I have the template saved in the Cool Extras folder. I am trying to get it so that document shows up in recent items any time I make a new document so that I don't have to keep taking those extra steps going into more settings every time. I have saved it in the New Document Profiles folder as both a document and a template, which shows up in recents but does not keep the custom view.

No, .ait files do not show up in recent files.)

But you can save any .ai file at a place that is easy to find for you (desktop) and rename it afterwards to .ait

So there's no way to open a new document preset with a custom view saved?

You could save an .ai file with that custom view, rename it .ait and open that.

It is not a new document preset, but it will open as untitled (and have a color profile).
