How to turn off generative AI expand for images in the crop function, Illustrator 30.4

Since updating to 30.4, any time I attempt to crop an image (very often due to shrinking embedded photos for the correct DPI) if I unintentionally make the crop selection too large, it no longer snaps to the corners like it used to, but defaults to generative AI. I never want to generate. Will there be a way to turn this function off in preferences? It is affecting my workflow to the point of having to downgrade back to 30.3.

yes, please make this generate stop. Its extremely frustrating and it won’t even let me cancel it when it starts!

I’m having the same issue, out of the blue. Worst of all it’s costing credits--to crop my own image! I kind of seems like a fraudulent way to trigger generative credits use.

Its insane that Adobe launched this tool without the ability to turn it off. I am CROPPING something, why in the world would i want to generate extra content 2 pixels outside the image border that takes 5 minutes for my computer to load with no option to exit the process??? at least give us a confirm button that pops up to ask if you want to use generative crop. I dont want to zoom into the micro level everytime to make sure im ending my crop at exactly the existing photo border when im only trying to crop one side. Please god stop making everything AI and just make your tools work well.

What more can users do to have requests recognized, especially (in theory) simple ones like this? 50+ upvotes feels significant for how hidden and difficult to navigate the UserVoice is.

It is driving me mad too - you’re trying to crop an image in Illustrator and if you’re a fraction out, it automatically triggers the AI generative tool and then you’re stuck waiting until the process completes before you can do undo it. I am sick to my back teeth of these unwanted AI features.
