How to update AI CC without deleting previous versions?

When I click "Update" for AI CC I thought I would see a secondary dialog with "Advanced" options. I don't see that when I click "Update" for AI CC this morning and am concerned the update will delete version 2015. Can someone reassure me the update will NOT delete AI CC 2015?

i think you don't see the option because it's an incremental update. Only the whole new versions should need it.

Ok, I ran the update for Photoshop CC and did not lose PS CC 2015 so I'll assume AI will work the same. I'd like to see the update process more clearly documented.
