How to withdraw handles completely?

Freehand had the ability to suck in all handles via a menu command or palette selection -- it's been so long I forget. I occasionally have the desire to do that, and today looked more thoroughly than in the past to find that "tool." To no avail. Does it not exist, or have I not looked hard enough?

When the cursor changes, that is the moment I hold down Alt (option, not ctrl, not cmd)

Pen tool. Press Alt and click on the point.

Or direct selection tool and use the buttons in the control panel.

On a Mac, so Alt = Control, I'm guessing. I tried it and clicking on the point with the pen tool gives me a greyed out option "Make Pixel Perfect," something I've never before seen.
