how to work on a PDF with Illustrator

Hello,

About this picture :

This picture is coming from a PDF. My goal would be to open the PDF inside Illustrator and work directly on the PDF inside Illustrator.

I know Photoshop is able to remove the yellow background with level function, but is it possible to do the same in Illustrator, and how ? Does Illustrator has something like "Levels" like in Photoshop :

No, Photoshop is for images, Illustrator is vector based. So Photoshop is the right tool for this.

As I am working with PDF, I had seen Illustrator is able to modify PDF, so I was wondering if Illustrator had a "Level" tool like in Photoshop :

No, there is some limited image adjustment, but no Levels in Illustrator.
