The latest update says we can now add hyperlinks for pdf files but does not tell us how to do this. Anyone know?

Found my answer when I went to the link you sent.

Highlight text or select object.

In attributes select Image Map > Rectangle.

Paste url > save pdf.

Thanks for your help!

Thanks for replies. I'm trying to link a word or object to a URL in Illustrator. In InDesign, I highlight the word and right click to add a hyperlink. Was hoping this would be the case with illustrator now.

PDF files exported from Illustrator now retain the text and image hyperlinks that you set through the Attributes panel.

create a text frame and type a valid url like

https://www.google.com/

then save as pdf, once the pdf opens in acrobat or reader, the hyperlink should be clickable
