I am trying to put a cuttable line around a design on illustrator.

I am trying to put a cuttable line around a design on illustrator. I have made the cut contour a pink colour which is different to the rest of the design but when I go to cut it on my Roland cutter machine it just puts a pink line all the way around and does not cut around the shape.

any help would be greatly appreciated,

You will need to check the Roland manual on how exactly to make that cut line. You might need to put it on a specific layer or give it a specific name or a specific line weight and maybe all of the above.
