I am unable to figure out how to set a selection action for a desired dashed line - anyone figure out a work-around?

I am unable to use my previous selection actions for dashed lines from CS6 either.

Maybe this helps, if you select a line with those attributes, you can select similar lines with Object > Select > Same > Appearance.

I need to be able to build a file from scratch and I really need to focus on finding a way to use a selection action to input the correct line weight and dashes.

Thank you!

And a graphic style does not help to apply the correct line weight and dashes?

Hi Tiffany,

What versions of Illustrator & OS? Can we see a screenshot of the steps in you action? You may need to rerecord.

Not sure exactly what you are trying to do. Until you can provide us with more information would  this help?

Select >> Same >> Appearance

On the left is the Stitch Line selection action that I set.  On the right in my stroke menu you can see how the selection action runs.  This is the closest I have gotten after hours of experimenting.  I am noticing that the first set of Dash and Gap is really where the problem lies - it is never the same as specified in the original selection action.  I also included two lines, the top is the correct format and the bottom is the closest I can get but as you can see it is still off.

Thanks!

I tried to create the action from scratch and had a similar result with the dash values getting confused and slightly jumbled.

Why not make a graphic style instead, and apply that? I also do not see why you need more than the first 2 entries in dash of 3pt & 1.5pt.
