I can't get my brush definition to set to basic definition
I'm new to Illustrator and watched a simple crash course on all the mechanics and for the most part haven't had any serious issues until recently. I've seen several posts of similar demeanor to my issue but they were either unrelated or not specific enough to help. Basically I've been using the basic brush definition for most of my drawings but only recently tried using the "chalk" brush definition. My plan was to use the basic brush tool to make an outline of what I was drawing and then to switch to the blob brush tool to draw lines that I can remove with more precision. The initial problem I had was when trying to set a definition to the blob brush tool it wouldn't stay on anything besides basic. However, after tinkering with different brush strokes trying to figure out why the blob tool won't stay and just returning to the regular brush tool, now I can't get it to return to the basic brush definition. As seen here I have the tool selected, but when I try to draw it draws with whatever it was previously set to. It can use literally anything but the single brush definition that it was defaulted to.
