I looked up in the internet to find the solutions to this problem and all of them said to open > preferences > File handling and Clipboard > Data recovery. My problem is no matter where I look I cant seem to find that "Data Recovery" area anywhere. Can anyone of you guys help me on what can I do to recover my crashed / unsaved data in the Adobe Illustrator CC.

Then most likely it's the first CC version. You can make sure by opening the About Illustrator box and read the number in there. The first version number was 17.

That version doesn't have auto recovery.

    Which version of Illustrator?

It only labels "Adobe Illustrator". There's no number like "2014/2017" behind it.
