I dont know how this happened, but in oreder to change or activae ant tool from the toolbar, I have to double click it. Its HIGHLY annoying! It will also bing up the tool extras from teh double click.

The toolbar itsel will change the highlighted tool but the curcer will still be the previous tool selection. It will only change if I doubel click the tool I want to use.

Can anybody help???? This doent seem to be an issue I am able to find via google.

Hello @Brian25587207dexg,

Sorry to hear about this experience. I would request you try resetting Illustrator's preferences by following the steps shared in this article (https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/kb/troubleshoot-preference-issues.html) and sharing your observations.
Disclaimer: Please note that resetting preferences will remove all custom settings, and Illustrator will launch with the defaults. You may take a backup of these settings from the location mentioned in the article.

Also, try running Illustrator under the root user account (macOS) or a different administrator account (Windows) and check if it helps.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,
Anubhav
