Icons on external drives - macOS 26.3 Beta 3

I believe installing macOS 26.3 beta 3 (25D5112c) was when the problem started. That problem is that Sidebar icons for all external drives are now that of the Creative Cloud application. Icons on the drive in the Finder itself are normal; it is only those in the Sidebar which have the incorrect icon. All external drives are connected via a NVMExpress interface.

I have the same problem. I manage to solve it by File Provider list in System Settings. Go to your settings > Login Items & Extensions, find the Creative Clound, if File Provider is enabled, disable it.

Yeah this solved the problem. But I still dont have the real expalanation of why and why, if we do this what will happen, if we do that will it affect the App and the mac,

I think it has something to do with last CC update.

I’ve had this same problem since upgrading to 26.2. The drive icons on the desktop and in the Get Info box are correct; just not in the sidebar.

I am using MacOS Tahoe 26.2 and having this same issue. All external hard drives have the Adobe Creative Cloud logo. When I right click and select Get Info, the icon in the information page is normal.

I ejected the drives and reconnected and the icons appear normal. I am wondering if this is something that happens when the drives are connected on boot?

    Hello @David 14.1

Thanks for reaching out. Could you revert to the macOS Tahoe release version and check whether the problem persists there as well? If yes, kindly share screenshots/ a brief screen recording of the problem, so we can better assist you.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Anubhav,

I appreciate your quick response. I checked by MacBook Pro 16” M2 Max running macOS 26.2. It does not have the problem I have attached a screenshot of my Finder Sidebar.
