iIllustrator issues after updating to MacOs Tahoe

Hello everyone,

Recently, I accidentally updated my macOS to macOS Tahoe 26.2, and I have encountered several issues when using Illustrator 2026. Some of these issues include:

  1. Being unable to open files using File > Open in Illustrator. However, the files will open if I click on them directly outside of Illustrator.
  2. Being unable to export files to other formats, as Illustrator lags or freezes as soon as i click on the export button.
  3. Being unable to change or relink images using the Links tool.

Is there a way to resolve these issues?

Hi @xoustified,

Sorry to hear that you experience this. Agreeing with expert's suggestion, please first isolate the issue by testing and confirming the details already mentioned in the thread, especially whether a Wacom or similar tablet driver is installed and updated on your system.

Once you have checked that and confirmed the results, please update this thread with your findings. Based on that update, we can move on to the next action plan and help you get this sorted as quickly as possible.

Looking forward to your update.

Thanks for the replies. I don’t have the Wacom driver installed on my Mac.

I tried installing it using the link provided in the thread shared by Tom, but unfortunately, it did not solve the issue.

Thanks for the reply. I tried installing it, but sadly the issue still remained even after I relaunched Illustrator or restarted my MacBook.

Hello @xoustified,

Thanks for confirming. Would you mind trying the following steps and checking if they help:

- Close all Adobe applications.

- Rename the UXP folder to UXP.old from the following location:

(Windows) Navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\UXP

(macOS) Navigate to Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe/UXP

- Relaunch Illustrator

If the problem persists, try running Illustrator under a different administrator account (Windows / macOS) and share your observations.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
