ILLUSTARTOR V 29.6 FREQUENT CRASHES

HELLO

 

The latest version of Illustrator keeps freezing and crashing. I am unable to even do simple things like love layers around without it freezing. I have had to forxe quit the app half a dozen times, restart my computer, nothing helps!! I am absolutely unable to work, please help.

    Hi @Akila37920170bped,

     

    I'm really sorry to hear about the crashes. To help get this sorted, could you please confirm the version of your operating system? 

    Also, to rule out any system specific or user specific issues, please try launching Illustrator in Safe Mode and also test in a new local user admin account:

    Safe Mode on macOS

    Create a new user on macOS

    Safe Mode on Windows

    Create a new user on Windows

    Also, when Illustrator crashes, do you get the Adobe Crash Reporter dialog box? If yes, were you able to submit the crash report? If so, please share the email address you entered when submitting it so I can locate the logs and get them investigated. Here’s how the crash reporter works in case you'd like to take another look.

    Dear Abhishek

    Thank you for your prompt response.

    I have never used safe mode, it's new to me but will try.

    In reply to your other questions:

    1. Because I thought that I hadn't upgraded to Sequoia, I did that a few
    hours ago. The OS is Sequoia 15.5. But no change at all.

    2. Every time I have force quit Illustrator, I get a dialog box saying
    Illustrator crashed - but funnily enough, the usual button for reporting
    the crash is always absent!

    I will go through the guide.
