Hello @M_LliwiWhisky,

We understand how frustrating it can be to encounter crashes in the middle of work. Would you mind confirming if Illustrator behaves this way with all files / when using a particular feature/tool? Also, kindly try the suggestions shared in this help article (https://adobe.ly/4d1rUnK) and check if they help. Additionally, kindly submit the crash report using your Adobe email address and share it here for quick tracking. Steps are shared here: (https://adobe.ly/4d1rUUM). We appreciate your time and patience in helping us resolve this issue.

Thanks,
Anubhav

Thanks for the update and for correcting the version number, @M_LliwiWhisky. It’s definitely frustrating to deal with crashes, especially when they interrupt your work. Since you’ve identified that the crashes occur when using the hand tool and you’re reinstalling the app, here are a few additional steps that might help if the issue persists:

1. If you’re using macOS and notice that pressing the spacebar is closing the app, please check out this community post for possible solutions: Spacebar Closing Illustrator Issue.

2. Try running Illustrator in Safe Mode (Windows / macOS) to see if that resolves the issue. Safe Mode can help determine if the problem is related to other software or system settings.

2. If reinstalling doesn’t fix the problem, resetting Illustrator’s preferences might help. To do this, hold down Ctrl + Alt + Shift (Windows) or Cmd + Option + Shift (Mac) while launching Illustrator and confirm when prompted.

3. Sometimes, crashes can be linked to graphics settings. Try disabling GPU Performance by going to Preferences > Performance and unchecking the GPU Performance box to see if this stabilizes the program.

4. Ensure your graphics drivers are up to date. Older drivers can cause compatibility issues with newer versions of Illustrator.

If the crashes continue, please submit the crash reports using your Adobe email address. These reports help the team identify and address the issue more effectively. You can find the steps to submit crash reports here: Submit Crash Reports.

I hope these suggestions help and that the reinstallation resolves the issue. If you continue to face problems, let us know how it goes—we’re here to assist further. Hang in there!

Best,

Anshul Saini
