Illustrator 2017 - 400% CPU! - fans louder than I've ever heard them

Anybody else seeing illustrator 2017 use way too many resources? I have a 2012 MacBook Pro with Retina Display. I'm looking for possible solutions or just someone to share this with. I may have to downgrade.

Someone else could fix this by uninstalling 1500 of their 2000 fonts.

If you want to solve this, maybe start by telling us something about your system.
