Illustrator 2018 Artboard Issues

I've found a couple of issues with artboards in Illustrator 2018:

Anytime the artboard tool is engaged the "align to" is changed to "selection." This is the new default even if it was previously set to "align to artboard." I now have to go back and change this frequently in my work flow.

If you have a list of artboards and try and delete several of them, deleting one will deselect the list. No longer can you click on the trash can and delete multiple artboards in succession.

Hi,

We are looking into "Align To" option issue and to delete multiple artboards you can follow below steps :

1. Select artboard tool

2. Press shift and click on all the artboards that you want to delete(you can also do Shift + drag to marquee select the artboards / select them in artboards panel /  ctrl or cmd + A to select all the artboards)

3. Click delete on artboard panel / control panel / properties panel /keyboard

Result : Selected artboards art deleted. If  all the artboards were selected one artboard will remain in the document.

Ugh - I HATE this new update.  So many simple things are not working.  The allign object to the center of an artbord doesn't work.  That is basic beginner.  I can't figure this out.  And I can't drag a pattern to the swatch menu any more.  I see it and then click what I want to drag over and the menu won't stay open, it auto shuts.  This is terrible and I can't find any answers or anyone to talk with.  All the forum answers are from before the software updates so none of them apply.

Try resetting the application preferences (Command+Option+Shift when opening) to see if that does anything. I am able to drag swatches to the the Swatches panel when it is open or collapsed.

I tried to replicate what you are having problems with and do not have those issues on my Mac with CC 2018. The align option remains the same (Align to Artboard) once I have selected it even when I open additional documents or make more artboards. Also, I am able to select multiple Artboards in the Artboards panel and delete all of them when clicking the trash can icon.

Have you tried to use Shift button in order to align the selected page the others.

Further if you want to delete multiple pages in succession you can select all pages you want to delete using shift tool and delete them in once or drag your cursor around pages that to be deleted and delete them. Shift button is key role.

I could but this is some reduced functionality that I discovered upon updating to CC 2018. I'm being told about shift clicking over on Illustrator Voice so this is clearly a feature, not a bug and probably won't be addressed like many issues that plague Illustrator.
