Illustrator 2018 FREEZING

A couple of months back I started having some issues with Illustrator 2018.  I will be working on project and I will use one of the drop down menus, and it will be black and then if I hover over an spot the function will appear.  Then this is usually followed by Illustrator freezing.  There is no coming back from that I need to END TASK and kill the application.  And then hope that I whatever comes back up is still there or recovered (sometimes yes... sometimes no).

This happens several times in a session... so it gets a little nerve racking.

I am running Windows 10 on a Wacom Cintiq Companion 2.... never had issues before.

I also noticed Saving is running longer and Copying to the Clipboard as well.

I may try to run everything on my Wacom MobileStudio Pro to see if it is also experiencing the same issues.

Has anyone else noticed this?  If so was there a solution?

    I haven't personally, but I'm wondering if you change your preferences for GPU performance to off. I believe it's on by default. Does that help in any way?

      I turned it off.... so let's see if this helps.  I never had a problem before.  Again, I will check my other device soon to see if the issue is there as well.
