Illustrator 2018 Unknown error

One of my end users is having an issue with their Adobe Illustrator 2018 where when they try to open a file or create a new one, Illustrator gives the error message of "an unknown error has occurred." This started happening on Monday 8/24. As a workaround, we also have Illustrator 2020 installed, but the plug-in Roland Cut Studio isn't showing up in the Extensions drop-down list even though it is in the Plug-ins folder for both 2018 and 2020. Any thoughts and/or instructions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Emma

I was able to contact support and they said that Roland CutStudio is only compatible with Illustrator 2020 24.0 and earlier. Currently working on uninstalling and reinstalling the program.

Edit: Reinstalled Adobe Illustrator 2020 24.0 and then had to install an Extension Manager to then install the Roland CutStudio plug-in. After that, the plug-in was showing in 2020 and could be used. Just wanted to post this update for anyone else.

The Roland plugin might not be compatible with version 2020. Roland needs to deal with that.

Is there a printer correctly installed, set up as the default printer and turned on? Illustrator needs to find a printer at all times. If it can't find one or even worse if it can't find the printer that has been assigned in the file or if previously installed printers are no longer there, Illustrator will be acting weird.
