Illustrator 2020 - Issues when Saving, Opening, and Closing

Illustrator was working perfectly fine until the recent update. I opened it the first time just fine. I tried saving the file and this is when the trouble started:

- File took more than 5 minutes to save; the file then proceeded to tell me it had a saving error 5 minutes after saying it had saved.

- I tried resaving the file, again it took more than 5 minutes to complete (this time it saved).

- I closed Illustrator and restarted my computer to try and fix this issue.

- Now, Illustrator takes several minutes to open and just crashes afterward.

I tried to find steps to fix this on the community before posting but I cannot find anything similar. Where do I even start?
