Illustrator 2023 unresponsive in black after launch

Hi,

I just installed latest version of Adobe Illustrator (27.9) in my MacOS 13.5.1

Right after launch screen, it only shows a complete empty, black window, totally unresponsive.

The menus are there and I can drop-down them, but theyir options are algo completely unresponsive.

 

It happened with latest Illustrator Beta too. Same effect.

 

I do attach 2 screen shots so you can have a better idea of what is happening to me.

 

Please any serious help? Would be appreciated!

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing this issue with Adobe Illustrator. Based on your description and the provided screenshots, it appears to be a UXP folder issue, potentially related to this particular version of Illustrator on some machines.

  • Update Illustrator: First, please ensure you are using the latest version of Illustrator, currently version 28.0. Updating to the latest version can often resolve software issues.

  • Reset Preferences: Sometimes, issues like this can be due to corrupted preferences. You can try resetting Illustrator preferences by pressing and holding  Cmd + Option + Shift immediately after launching Illustrator. You should see a dialog box asking if you want to reset your preferences.

  • Renaming the UXP Folder: If resetting preferences doesn't work, another option is to rename the UXP folder. This folder may contain extensions and plugins that can sometimes interfere with normal operation. To do this:

    • Close Illustrator.
    • Navigate to the following location:
      • /Library/Application Support/Adobe
      • ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe
    • Rename the "UXP" folder to something else, like "UXP.old."
    • Restart Illustrator and check if the issue is resolved.
