Illustrator 2024 freezes when editing layer options & changing things by increments

Installed Illustrator 2024 two months ago & everything has been working fine at first.

Then one day it started freezing whenever I double-click on a layer to edit its options (see 1st photo). It also happens whenever I change things by increments, e.g., moving objects using keyboard arrow keys, changing font size by clicking the up/down arrows (see 2nd photo), or anything else that allows incrementing with those up/down arrows like corner radius, stroke width, etc. 

I haven't been able to find anything related to this specific behaviour online. Not sure if this is related but I mainly use cloud documents for work purposes.

 

Machine info:

  • MacOS Sonoma 14.5
  • Macbook Pro (M2 Pro chip, 16GB RAM)
  • Adobe Illustrator 2024 v28.5

    Did you already reboot the computer?

    Reset the preferences?

     

    Can you remember if you installed anything on the computer around the time it stopped working?

    Antivirus? A window manager?

    We understand that encountering technical issues can be frustrating. I hope Monika's suggestions helped resolve the problem. If not, try running Illustrator under Safe Mode (Windows / macOS) to see if it helps. Also, try running Illustrator under a different administrator account (Windows / macOS) and share your observations.
