Illustrator 2025 Artboard Tool

In previous versions of Illustrator I could take the Artboard Tool and click on an object or image and it would automatically create an artboard that exact size. Now I have to shift+click to make that happen, execpt that EVERYONE ELSE on my team can still do it the old way, no shift clicking needed.

While this isn't the end of the world, years of muscle memory will take time to overcome, but more importantly I want to figure why this is happening. There doesn't seem to be any obvious option or setting I can change to make it work like it used to.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

Maybe reset the preferences?

I suppose you alread rebooted the computer?

And you aren't using any different mouse or mouse driver than your colleagues?
