It's just very uncomfortable to work... I had never had this problem before. I am working on a MacBook Pro 13-inch 2017 macOS Mojave, Version 10.14.5  and Illustrator version 24.0.1 / please I hope this gets fixed... 😕😕

Is the Dictation service turned off in your system?

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about the trouble you are facing with Illustrator. I would request if you can share a few more details like:

  1. Is this happening on a specific file or on all files?
  2. Where are the files saved, locally or any network or shared drive?
  3. If this issue is not on a specific file, you can also try resetting the preferences and see if that helps:
  • Close Illustrator.
  • Click on the Finder icon on the dock, choose Go on the top> Go To Folder.
  • In the Go To Folder dialog box, type "~/Library". Click Go.
  • Open the Preferences Folder > rename the Illustrator  24 Settings folder to Illustrator  24 Settings folder.old
  • Under Preferences, Open Adobe folder and rename Adobe Illustrator folder to Adobe Illustrator.old
  • Go back to library->open caches->rename  com.adobe.illustrator to com.adobe.illustrator.old
  • Go back to library->open application support-> open adobe->rename the Illustrator  24 folder to Illustrator  24 folder.old

Disclaimer: Please note that resetting preferences will remove all the custom settings and Illustrator will launch with default settings. This way all your old settings will be saved in .old folders and Illustrator will recreate new folders with default settings.

Regards

Hello again,

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, this laggy-ness I feel is happening in all of the files I was working on, not on a specific one. Most of the files are locally saved just a few on a shared drive. I was not working on other programs from the Adobe CC at the same time. To be honest I was working just with one file at the time and not even heavy files. Anyway, at the moment, I went back to the 2019 version of Illustrator because I have lots of work to do.. and it is working pretty fine.

I actually didn't have any preferences yet as I had removed them when I downloaded the new Adobe 2020 version.
