Illustrator 24 has changed so much that I cant use it any more

Can anyone tell me how to select a bunch of images and text and then make them proportionally smaller or bigger? I used to select what I wanted and then grab a corner, hold down shift, and drag inward, but it didn't give me that option. Am I missing something here?

It wasn't nor did I ever have to turn that on or off in previous versions.

This blows learning this all over again. 20 plus years and I feel like i've never used it.
