Sorry to hear about your experience. As asked by @sishamIAGD, would it be possible for you to share some more details like:

  • Operating System
  • Where was this file saved? (Network Drive/ System HDD/ Shared Folder on System/ External HDD)?
  • Are there any recent changes made to your system? For example, any antivirus, system updates, plugins, or web extensions installed recently.
  • Does adding a secondary Scratch Disk in Illustrator Preferences help resolve the issue?

Do you want to actually give us a bit more detail..? What system? When this happened? What process were you doing? Etc..??
