Hi There,

I know there are some iffy workarounds:

-do not use embeded images

-do not use guides

-create a new profile and re-install

BUT I will lose probably loose a day of work creating new profiles and installing on 4 imacs to sort an Adobe bug that is 3yrs old...? I'm annoyed adobe class this problem as solved on past posts by creating a new profile and re-installing...? Come on, if its a corrupted file show us how to sort, at least...?

(if I've missed a decent solution I apologise)

Illustrator 27.1

iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2019)

3.7 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i5

2 GB 2667 MHz DDR4

Radeon Pro 580X 8 GB

Yep!! Still happening! I've also found that it happens when there are a few objects on the same layer, I can make the problem disappear by rearranging the layers in the artboards but it takes a long time to figure out. Huge dissapointment to see this GPU problem happening since V26!

  • OK, illustrator seems to work in a new profile (not re-installed anything)
  • SO the issue is with OSX root admin running illustrator...?
  • Surely there is an easiler solution than moving all files, etc across to a new profile...?

Is GPU preview turning off unexpectedly or does it never work?

It works for a while, then goes if I turn the rulers on, have embeded images or move a complex group... restarting brings it back for a bit... Been using an old version of illustrator until we upgraded osx to Monterey...
