Illustrator 27.1 Keyboard increments not functioning properly

Question

I don't have snap to pixel or snap to grid (those seem to have disappeared from preferences anyway) selected, but keboard increments aren't working correctly. I cannot seem to change the increment to one that is useful. However, sometimes this does work so I'm completely flummoxed about this. Thanks.

It sounds like you’re experiencing inconsistent behavior with the keyboard increments in Illustrator 27.1. Here are a few things you can try:

1. Try updating Illustrator to 28.7.1 to see if that helps!

2. Sometimes, preferences may reset or not apply correctly. Go to Illustrator > Preferences > General and check your increment settings under “Keyboard Increment.”

2. If that doesn't help, try resetting Illustrator’s preferences. This can sometimes fix issues like this.

3. In the Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts menu, check that the correct keys are assigned to the actions you want.
